Day 1 Convective Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1258 AM CDT Wed Sep 30 2020

Valid 301200Z - 011200Z

Severe thunderstorms are not expected today and tonight across the
continental United States.

A broad cyclonic mid-level flow pattern will be in place across the
eastern two-thirds of the U.S. today. At the surface, high pressure
will be in place along the Gulf Coast. This will limit thunderstorm
activity across the Southeast except for central and southern
Florida. Additional storms may develop in parts of the Great Lakes
as an upper-level trough moves across the region. A few storms may
also occur along the coast of New England early in the day.
Instability should be too weak in these three areas for a severe
threat. Elsewhere, thunderstorm activity is not expected across the
U.S. today and tonight.
