SPC 1730Z Day 2 Outlook
Day 2 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1209 PM CDT Sun Oct 04 2020 Valid 051200Z - 061200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Severe thunderstorms are not expected through Tuesday morning. ...Synopsis... Mid-level ridging is expected to persist across the western United States on Monday, with modest downstream troughing occurring across the Great Lakes. Several short-wave troughs embedded within this larger-scale pattern will quickly move through the flow. One such trough will accelerate east off the Mid-Atlantic coast, with another digging southward across the Great Lakes. At the surface, much of the eastern United States will be under the influence of a cool, dry continental airmass in the wake of previous frontal passages. The composite of these frontal intrusions is draped across the northern Florida Peninsula. To its south, seasonably high moisture content and modest surface destabilization will support a risk for thunderstorms. However, the overall environment will remain unsupportive of organized severe thunderstorms. ..Marsh.. 10/04/2020
