SPC 0730Z Day 3 Outlook
Day 3 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0208 AM CDT Fri Oct 16 2020 Valid 181200Z - 191200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... A severe threat is not expected to develop across the continental United States Sunday or Sunday night. ...DISCUSSION... An upper-level trough is forecast to move eastward across the central U.S. on Sunday as a cold front moves southward across the mid Mississippi Valley and southern Plains. Ahead of the front, some moisture return will take place from parts of east Texas into the Arklatex. Scattered thunderstorms may develop ahead of the front from the Arklatex northeastward into the mid Mississippi Valley. A severe threat is not expected in this area due to weak instability. Further south into east Texas, moderate instability is forecast to develop by afternoon. However, convective development should remain sparse due to a capping inversion. For storms that can develop, deep-layer shear is not forecast to be sufficient for a severe threat. ..Broyles.. 10/16/2020
