SPC 1300Z Day 1 Outlook
Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0646 AM CST Mon Nov 02 2020 Valid 021300Z - 031200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Isolated thunderstorms may occur today across parts of the lower Colorado River Valley and southern Great Basin. Severe thunderstorms are not expected. ...Synopsis and Discussion... Thunderstorm chances appear minimal east of the Rockies today with surface high pressure dominating much of the central CONUS and offshore flow continuing over the Gulf of Mexico and western Atlantic. Isolated showers and thunderstorms off the coast of south FL this morning will continue moving southeastward over water in tandem with a surface cold front. Large-scale upper ridging will prevail over the western CONUS today as a weak, closed upper low migrates slowly from CA to the Great Basin. Even though low-level moisture and instability will remain quite limited, isolated thunderstorms appear possible across parts of the lower CO River Valley and southern Great Basin through the period. ..Gleason.. 11/02/2020
