SPC 0100Z Day 1 Outlook
Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0629 PM CST Fri Nov 06 2020 Valid 070100Z - 071200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Severe thunderstorms are not expected across the U.S. mainland. ...01z Update... Significant upper low is digging southeast along the northern CA Coast this evening. Very little lightning has been observed with this system, but cooling profiles and onshore flow remain favorable for further destabilization. Will maintain 10 percent thunder probabilities where marine influences/buoyancy appear supportive of stronger convective updrafts. Dominant upper low that settled over the lower Sabine River Valley will move little through the day1 period. Greatest concentration of convection remains over the Gulf Basin -- well south of the coast. Isolated thunderstorms also persist over the Gulf Stream off the SC Coast, but this activity, too, will likely struggle to move appreciably inland tonight. ..Darrow.. 11/07/2020
