SPC 0100Z Day 1 Outlook
Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0631 PM CST Sun Nov 08 2020 Valid 090100Z - 091200Z ...THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS SOUTHERN FLORIDA... ...SUMMARY... A tornado threat is expected through tonight and early Monday across south Florida and the Keys as Tropical Storm Eta tracks west-northwest across the area. ...South Florida and the Keys -- 01z Update... The center of Tropical Storm Eta is located just southeast of the middle and upper FL Keys this evening. The low level wind field has begun to increase as the center moves closer to south FL and the Keys, with storm motion adjusted 0-1 km SRH values greater than 200 m2/s2 noted in VWP data. Some transient, weak low level rotation has been noted over the past couple of hours, mainly in cells offshore in more intense bands north of the center of Eta and east of the southeast FL coast. Cloud cover and shower activity has limited destabilization across the region, with the greatest instability confined near the immediate south FL coast and across the Keys where dewpoints are highest. Nevertheless, given the strength of low level shear, a tornado threat will likely persist into tonight and early Monday morning. ..Leitman.. 11/09/2020
