SPC 1300Z Day 1 Outlook
Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0655 AM CST Mon Dec 07 2020 Valid 071300Z - 081200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Thunderstorms should end over the Florida Keys by 9 AM EST. ...FL Keys... A weakening convective cluster is ongoing across the Lower Keys and recently produced measured gusts of 30-40 mph. This activity should spread east of the Keys into the Florida Straits during the next hour with no additional thunderstorms expected as the composite surface outflow/leading front pushes southeast of the region. ...SC... Scattered low-topped showers are expected this afternoon downstream of a vigorous shortwave trough that will rapidly eject from the Mid-South to the South Atlantic Coast. Minimal buoyancy will likely curtail sufficient deepening for charge separation. But given the strength of ascent with steepening lapse rates, very isolated lightning flashes might occur. ..Grams.. 12/07/2020
