Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0547 AM CST Thu Dec 10 2020 Valid 101300Z - 111200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Sporadic general thunderstorms are expected from the Southwest to the southern Great Plains through early Friday. ...Southwest to southern Great Plains... A shortwave trough near the AZ/Sonora border will dampen as it ejects into the southern/central High Plains by daybreak Friday. Thunderstorm potential should be focused within two regimes. The first will be across the Southwest where pockets of scant buoyancy near the mid-level thermal trough should promote isolated thunder through about sunset. The second regime will be centered within the 700-mb warm theta-e advection zone where meager elevated buoyancy should become increasingly prevalent, beginning in west TX this evening and spreading east/northeast into OK and central portions of TX tonight. ..Grams.. 12/10/2020
