NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0617 PM CST Tue Dec 22 2020

Valid 230100Z - 231200Z

Thunderstorms are generally not expected through tonight.

Strong cooling aloft is currently spreading east across the central
and northern Rockies, with only a sporadic lightning flash noted
over northern CO. Strengthening downslope flow east of the Divide
and loss of heating may quell isolated flash activity in the near
term, with only a slim chance later this evening over the northern
Plains as very weak elevated instability develops due to steep lapse
rates aloft. Forecast soundings show perhaps non-zero MUCAPE values
rooted above 700 mb. In any event, the probability of thunderstorms
remains below 10%.
