Model consensus is that a large upper trough will be centered over
the Midwest by early day 4 (Friday), and this feature will move
slowly east, finally exiting the eastern seaboard late day 5
(Saturday). Offshore flow and stable conditions inland will prevail
during this time. A lower-amplitude, more progressive shortwave
trough is forecast to move through the central and eastern U.S. day
6-7 on the heels of the previous trough. However, the speed of this
feature and lack of cyclogenesis suggest there will not be
sufficient moisture return for a severe threat.
