SPC 1300Z Day 1 Outlook
Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0529 AM CST Wed Jan 20 2021 Valid 201300Z - 211200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Isolated, non-severe thunderstorms should diminish later this morning over the Lower Colorado Valley, before redeveloping this evening into tonight across southern Arizona. ...Southern AZ and far southeast CA... A closed upper low west of the Baja Peninsula will gradually evolve back into an open wave by 12Z Thursday as it approaches the northern Gulf of CA. A plume of sufficient low to mid-level moisture across the peninsula and gulf will support periods of showers and embedded thunderstorms mostly across the northwest portions of Mexico and adjacent waters. Some of this activity will spread across the international border, mainly this morning across the Lower CO Valley and this evening into tonight over southern AZ. Meager buoyancy and weak low-level winds should preclude a severe threat. ..Grams.. 01/20/2021
