A few thunderstorms are possible today, mainly over a portion of Missouri during the morning. No severe weather is expected. ...Middle Mississippi Valley area... A shortwave trough now approaching the central and southern Rockies will continue east into the central Plains and MS Valley. Downstream from this feature, a 60+ kt southerly low-level jet will migrate through the lower and middle MS Valley region. Isentropic ascent and weak destabilization (100-300 J/kg MUCAPE) associated with the low-level jet will result in scattered, elevated showers. Other showers will develop along a southeast-advancing cold front.
