Day 2 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1222 AM CST Thu Feb 04 2021 Valid 051200Z - 061200Z ...NO THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Thunderstorms are not expected Friday. ...Synopsis... An expansive upper trough will be in place across the CONUS early Friday. Several shortwave troughs will move through this larger parent trough, the strongest of which will begin the period over the Upper Great Lakes before moving into Ontario. A lower amplitude shortwave is expected to moves across the Southern Plains and Southeast with a third shortwave dropping through the central Rockies into the southern High Plains. Predominantly dry and stable conditions will dominate sensible weather across the majority of the CONUS. The only exception is the pre-frontal environment across southern GA and FL. In this area, mid 50s to low 60s dewpoints will precede the front, but warm temperatures aloft will limit buoyancy, precluding thunderstorm development. ..Mosier.. 02/04/2021
