SPC 0830Z Day 3 Outlook
Day 3 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0155 AM CST Fri Feb 05 2021 Valid 071200Z - 081200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Severe storms are not expected on Sunday. ...Synopsis... The shortwave upper trough over the Southeast will pivot northeast on Sunday. At the surface, a cold front will extend southwest from a low off the Mid-Atlantic coast to the central FL peninsula and into the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Showers and thunderstorms will likely be ongoing near the front across central FL. Ahead of the front, cloud cover and poor lapse rates will limit stronger destabilization, with forecast soundings indicating around 1000 J/kg MLCAPE across south FL before the upper trough axis shifts northeast. Forcing will weaken with time and southward extent, as will effective shear. While a strong storm or two are possible in the vicinity of the front, severe potential appears limited at this time. ..Leitman.. 02/05/2021
