Day 1 Convective Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0626 AM CST Mon Feb 08 2021

Valid 081300Z - 091200Z

Severe storms are not expected through tonight.

A low-amplitude midlevel trough will move eastward from west TX to
Gulf coast through tonight. The midlevel trough will induce a weak
low-level warm advection response along the north central and
northeast Gulf coast tonight. Returning moisture atop a frontal
surface will result in sufficient destabilization for elevated
thunderstorms, mainly after 06z. Otherwise, isolated thunderstorms
will be possible today across parts of south/central FL peninsula
along a slow-moving surface front. Only weak forcing for ascent
suggests that storm coverage should remain isolated.
