SPC 0700Z Day 2 Outlook
Day 2 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1143 PM CST Wed Feb 10 2021 Valid 121200Z - 131200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Organized severe thunderstorms are not forecast on Friday. ...Synopsis... An arctic airmass will reside across much of the CONUS, especially east of the Rockies, on Friday. A weak upper shortwave trough will migrate from the southern Plains toward the central Gulf of Mexico during the forecast period. This will bring southwesterly deep layer flow across much of the Southeast. At the surface, a cold front will surge southward across GA to the AL/FL/GA border. Warm advection and isentropic ascent atop the cooler airmass across the southeastern U.S. will result in widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms. Modest shear will increase after 00z, but weak instability and poor lapse rates, along with largely elevated convection will preclude severe thunderstorm potential. ..Leitman.. 02/11/2021
