SPC 0700Z Day 2 Outlook
Day 2 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1252 AM CST Thu Feb 18 2021 Valid 191200Z - 201200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Isolated thunderstorms may occur Friday across the Florida Peninsula and coastal Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Organized severe thunderstorms appear unlikely at this time. ...Florida Peninsula... A surface cold front will move southeastward across much of the FL Peninsula on Friday as a large-scale upper trough moves from the MS Valley across much of the eastern CONUS. Large-scale ascent associated with this upper trough is forecast to mostly lag behind the cold front. With only weak low-level convergence expected along the front, showers and isolated thunderstorms may still occur. Somewhat enhanced low/mid-level flow could potentially foster some storm organization. However, mid-level lapse rates should remain very poor, which will likely limit both instability and updraft intensity. Although a very isolated strong wind gust cannot be completely ruled out across some part of the central FL Peninsula, the overall severe potential still appears too conditional/low to include any probabilities at this time. ..Gleason.. 02/18/2021
